Happy 2013!!!

I am VERY excited about hosting my first end of the year Canvas Contest! This will not only be a fun way to give away TWO 16×20 canvases to my fabulous couples, but also learn what kind of images people are drawn to. I am going through the process of updating my website with the these such images, but I am way too close to each image, couple, and wedding day to choose the images on my own, which is why I gave my brides the daunting task of choosing ONE image from their wedding day to enter into this contest.

Each and every wedding was so unique and special in it’s own way and every couple touched my life profoundly. It is a special privilege that I don’t take lightly to be allowed behind the scenes on Your wedding day.  To be there when Your father sees You in Your dress for the first time, or to watch the bridesmaids tear up standing next to You at the alter, or witness the groom getting choked up at the sight of his Bride walking towards him down the aisle.  It is an honor that You gave Me front row tickets to all those moments!  Those memories belong to all of You, but they live in my heart as well, and I am forever grateful that You chose me to share them with.  Below you will find those moments most near and dear to my Brides.

Image #1)  From the Bride “It was snapped just after we said “I Do.”  This picture to us portrays a lot of symbolism; our smiles, Mario’s thumbs up and the picture of my father that was placed on my bouquet.  We were simply happy in the moment and this picture captures it all!”

Image #2) From the Bride, “This image completely captured the peacefulness at the end of the night after all the craziness when it was just the two of us in that moment. It is also a great representation of the yard and all my decorations, I feel like it really shows my entire vibe/look of my wedding in one picture.”

Image #11) From the Bride, “The clean lines in the photo from the middle pole and stairway railing draw the viewer’s eye straight down to me at the base… and I love how it looks like I’m in motion- eagerly headed out to meet my husband-to-be!  I honestly don’t think this photo would be nearly as dramatic in color as it is in black and white.  Truly a stunning photo…”

Image #12) From the Bride, “I love the way the colors pop and frame one of the happiest moments of our lives. When I look at this it reminds me of the love we were surrounded by and the love we have for each other.”

Image #13) From the Bride, “We love how the SF fog created such a dramatic backdrop.  The photo itself is quite simple and subdued with only grays and blacks in the coloration but it still makes a great statement.  It’s classic.”

Image #14) From the Bride, “What I love best is this was truly a moment when we didn’t know that the cameras were on us…we weren’t trying to be “serious,” we were just talking and enjoying the moment.  This also happens to be the same time that Jon told me where he was taking me on our honeymoon…it had been a surprise up until then.”
