It all started in law school at the University of Michigan. Nick was good friends with two of Stephanie’s roommates and despite seeing him from time to time, it wasn’t until the spring of their 2nd year that a real connection was made. Nick had taken his seat in a jurisdiction class and as people spilled in, Stephanie noticed a familiar (and super cute) face amongst the crowd and snagged the seat next to him. Stephanie quickly developed a crush and little did she know Nick was developing feelings too. Among other things, he found her intelligence very attractive and thought it wouldn’t be so bad having this girl in the seat next to him for the rest of his life. After a few weeks of (somewhat shamelessly) pursuing him, they shared their first kiss at a law review party, and the rest is history! By the time they started dating, each had lined up jobs in different cities for after graduation — New York and San Francisco. But they were committed to making it work 3,000 miles apart. It wasn’t until last summer that Stephanie bought that one way ticket to San Francisco to bridge the gap in their distance so they could finally be in the same time zone. After she took the California Bar Exam, Nick surprised her with a trip to Napa and took her to the same winery where she first told him, “I love you”. This time he would one UP her and get on one knee to propose!
We had such a great time shooting in their neighborhood of Nob Hill and then going to one of Stephanie’s all time favorite spots, The Ferry Building! Its waterfront beauty, cuisine, and energy are some of the reasons why Nick was able to convince her to move to the Bay Area…well, there was another big reason named Nick 😉 As the sun set, we made our way to the most romantic pier in SF and watched in awe as one of the most gorgeous days of the year transformed into one of the most magical sparkling nights the city has ever seen.
